SUNDAY DIVINE SERVICE OF ALL THE SAINTS OF THE UKRAINIAN LAND
On the second Sunday after Pentecost, the Church honors the memory of all the saints of the Ukrainian land, who by their faith, ascetic struggle, prayer, and sacrificial service glorified the Ukrainian land. They became living witnesses of the truth of Christ and an example of faithfulness to God even in the most difficult times.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, Archimandrite Job (Bohush) delivered a sermon in which he emphasized that holiness is not an unattainable ideal or the privilege of a chosen few, but the calling of every person. We must show, not only by words but also by deeds and by our very life, our inheritance from the apostles. The greatest enemy is we ourselves. We must struggle against our own selves. Following the example of the saints of the Ukrainian land, we are called to keep faithfulness to Christ, to increase love, mercy, and spiritual steadfastness in our daily life.
At the end of the divine service, the clergy and the faithful offered up prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord, asking the intercession of all the saints of the Ukrainian land for our people, and a blessing upon the further path of spiritual growth and service to God.
