Sunday Divine Service at the St. Nicholas Monastery of Zhydychyn
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the St. Nicholas Monastery of Zhydychyn, a Sunday divine service was held, led by Archimandrite Konstantyn (Marchenko). During the divine service the «Resurrection» choir sang under the direction of choirmaster Oksana Strechen.
After the reading of the Gospel about the blind man, Archimandrite Konstantyn delivered a sermon in which he called upon every Christian to see and recognize his own crisis of faith. He emphasized that when a person commits sin, he feels emptiness, fear, and anxiety.
«With Christ we have everything», says the Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Galatians. Therefore one must struggle against harmful habits and sin with God's help.
«I can do all things through Him who strengthens me — through Jesus Christ». Christianity is always about healing and transfiguration, and the foundation of this is our faith and Holy Communion. We are called not to fear, but to freedom in Christ.
The Lord expects unity from us. During the Divine Liturgy, the prayer «I Believe» (the Creed) unites all those present in one faith and one prayer.
On the Sunday of the blind man, the Lord opens not only the bodily eyes but also the spiritual sight of a person. Each of us needs God's light in order to see truth, love, and the path to salvation.
After the Divine Liturgy, the clergy celebrated the Sacrament of Holy Communion, during which the faithful, with reverence and prayer, approached to receive the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
